This month’s Member Profile is Dr. Kiara S. Eily, who specializes in brain health and offers a wide range of healthcare services at her practice, Carolina Center for Restorative Medicine, in Raleigh, NC.
As a medical student, Dr. Eily was fascinated with the science of neurology. When she rotated onto the inpatient neurology service, however, she was disappointed that few patients got better. Stroke patients did not regain function, multiple sclerosis patients did not recover, and dementia patients did not regain function. She recalls: “I needed the gratification of seeing patients recover and be restored.”
Thanks to the significant advances in both traditional and functional medicine, Dr. Eily can now combine her love of neurology with the gratification of obtaining better patient outcomes. Founding the Carolina Center for Restorative Medicine, Dr. Eily specializes in brain health, including autism and Alzheimer’s disease.
The Center places focus on the patient, not the disease. Using diagnostic data, Dr. Eily and her clinicians collaborate with the patient to design a strategic, systematic health plan that goes beyond treating symptoms. Their functional medicine model digs under the surface of the visible symptoms to determine the root causes of sickness and disease.
Their treatment plans address the mind, body and spirit so that health can be restored, not just managed.
We believe, “He who has health has hope, and he who has hope has everything.”
