Tracy M. Walter, Jr. MD

WASHINGTON, D.C. Tracy M. Walton, Jr., 87, a physician and Past President of the National Medical Association, Region 3 peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018 surrounded by his wife and children.

Dr. Tracy Walton Jr, MD graduated from Howard University College of Medicine in 1961 and was in practice for 52 years as a radiology specialist in Washington, DC. He was President of the National Medical Association – Silver Spring, Maryland (Region 3) and authored an article reflecting on 50 years of history for the Class of 1961, published in the Journal of the National Medical Association (Vol. 103, Nos. 9 & 10 – 2011) titled “Fifty Years and Counting.” Current members of the NMA may still access that article directly from the NMA’s website.

Dr. Walton is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mae; their children, Adrienne, Tracy, III, Terri (Arnold Ravick), Brien (Arvyce) and their seven grandchildren, Sharon Lynn, Jordan, Justin, Naomi, Keliané, Tess and Brienna; a sister-in-law, Fannye Goodwin and brother-in-law, Robert E. Hughes. He also leaves to mourn many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, a goddaughter, D. McDonald, colleagues and friends.

Dr. Walton will be interred at the Arlington National Cemetery Columbarium at a later date.
