About the COVID-19 Equity Project Team
The ONSMS COVID-19 team was assembled to address the devastating impact of the pandemic on vulnerable communities throughout the state of North Carolina. Evidenced by high rates of death and severe illness, the virus disproportionately affected minority, low-wealth, and rural communities as related to quality care, reliable medical information, vaccinations, and access to treatment. Additionally, federal, state, and local shelter-in-place and employment restrictions compounded the negative effects of COVID-19 for countless individuals and families from vulnerable populations.
The dedicated team of physicians from The Old North State Medical Society is standing with individuals, families, and communities to combat the effects of COVID-19. ONSMS is the reliable source for trusted medical professionals and information needed to make important decisions about health and wellness during the pandemic and beyond.
